My name is Aliyah White, and I am an LPC Associate at Kenyatta Black Counseling. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas Southern University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University (formerly Houston Baptist University).
As a therapist, I take an eclectic approach, drawing from various theoretical frameworks to best support my clients. I frequently utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as core methods in my practice. I’m also flexible and responsive to each client’s unique preferences—for example, when a client benefits more from a solution-focused approach, I adjust my methods accordingly.
My goal is to create a therapeutic space that feels both relaxed and professional, where clients feel safe and comfortable engaging in honest conversations. While I maintain a calm and supportive environment, I am also committed to gently challenging my clients through difficult moments to support their personal growth.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process. I maintain an open-door policy and encourage clients to share their thoughts and preferences about their therapeutic journey, ensuring the process is tailored to meet their individual needs.
